Swarm of Eyes to Play First Live Shows

You wanted the best… but instead you got Swarm of Eyes! Due to popular demand (from their parents, small circle of friends, and that long-lost cousin visiting from the isle of Mypos), Swarm of Eyes have announced the first of several live shows they will be playing throughout the New England area.

Swarm of Eyes will be making their live debut at The Lucky Dog in Worcester, MA on Saturday September 24th, 2011, sharing the bill with SCHISM, a TOOL tribute band. Set times, cover charges and additional bands on the bill will also follow.

For those of you Swarmies unable to catch the band at their inaugural gig, they will also be performing live at Great Scott in Alston, MA on Thursday October 6th, 2011. That evening, Swarm of Eyes will be joining Acaro and Death Ray Vision. Please check back for more information on set times and ticket prices.

The Swarm will be playing some of fans’ favorite songs from their debut album, Designing the Dystopia, along with a few other surprises. If you have a favorite SOE song or want to weigh in with what you’d like to hear the band play live (or what you don’t want to hear them play ever), feel free to send a Tweet to the band or hit them up on Facebook with some suggestions. They probably won’t listen to you, but hey, it’s the thought that counts!

Please continue to check the band’s Tour page for additional dates and information in the months ahead. See you soon!

Swarm of Eyes Hits Kosher Metal’s Airwaves

Oy, vey! Swarm of Eyes have been declared “kosher” by online radio station, KosherMetal.com. No, they won’t be laying laying off the bacon in favor of gefilte fish any time soon. Rather, songs from the band’s debut, Designing the Dystopia, are now included in the station’s airplay rotation.

Named for the slang term for “genuine and authentic,” Kosher Metal’s rotation playlist pulls from all subgenres of metal, blasting listeners’ ears with offerings from more established metal acts alongside newer and/or unsigned bands. Listeners can tune in via smartphone (Blackberry, Android, iPhone/Pad/Pod Touch) using the TuneIn Radio/Radiotime apps (http://www.koshermetal.com/mobile) and on the web at www.koshermetal.com. To find out about upcoming interviews, contests, or to request a song, connect with Kosher Metal directly through their website, or via the Kosher Metal Facebook page.

Swarm of Eyes is thrilled to have received the Kosher Metal stamp of approval and hope to reach new fans via the site’s airwaves.

Swarm of Eyes Vocalist Growls, Screams, and Now Sings

Sven Lindstsrom, power metal yodeling icon and SOE vocalist Randy Carter's esteemed mentor

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Swarm of Eyes lead singer Randy Carter has added “singing” and “yodeling” to his ever-expanding vocal repertoire.

“I figured, George and Deej can play more than three chords… EACH! And Jeff plays bass using more than one string. It was time for me to step up my game,” said Carter. “I want to be known as more than just a megalomaniac with a wicked-awesome jheri curl and impeccably groomed sideburns. I want to be known as an artist who takes his craft seriously, too.”

In an effort to hone his vocal chops, Carter enlisted the aid of iconic metal yodeler Sven Lindstrom. Lindstrom is recognized for his innovative “power yodeling” techniques, best exemplified on his landmark albums, Metal Up Your Alps and Run to the Hills in Lederhosen.

As a result of Lindstrom’s tutelage, fans can expect an even greater range of diversity in Randy Carter’s vocals when Swarm of Eyes actually gets off their collective asses to play a string of live shows this summer.
