“Designing the Dystopia” makes PopBlerd!’s “Top 11 of ’11”
It’s that time of year. Not for grossly overspending and obligatory visits to Grandma’s house, but for year-end “Best of” lists”!! Swarm of Eyes’ debut album, Designing the Dystopia, was named #9 on PopBlerd’s “Top 11 of ’11” list in the site’s weekly Metal Monday feature. Swarm of Eyes is honored to be included among the likes of fellow list-ees Dir En Grey and Motherboar. Thank you for all of your support, Popblerd!
Popblerd Reviews Swarm of Eyes’ Debut
The first reviews are in and they’re positive ones for the Swarm! In its “Metal Monday” feature, online pop culture magazine Popblerd, reviewed Designing the Dystopia and had plenty of good things to say. Popblerd writer/critic Jesse declared, “If you like your metal loud, fast, and complex, then Designing The Dystopia is for you.” Popblerd went on to choose “Shadows” as the standout track on the disc, also noting that:
“Enter The Circle” is how you open a metal album. Plain and simple. It’s a statement of intent lead by a guitar squeal that could’ve been made by Eddie Van Halen on “Eruption”.
