Swarm of Eyes to Appear on “Kosher Komp: Vol. 1”

Online metal radio station, KosherMetal.com is doing their part to support underground metal with the release of Kosher Komp: Vol. 1, available for free download on September 10th, 2011. The compilation features 25 songs from 14 metal bands, including Threat Level, Ana Kefr, Mouth of the Serpent, and (of course) Swarm of Eyes.

Since Swarm of Eyes are twice as handsome as most metal bands, they will have not one, but two songs from their debut, Designing the Dystopia, included on the compilation. Future fans who have not yet had the pleasure of having heard Swarm of Eyes (or fans too cheap to purchase the insanely affordable album through the band’s website, iTunes or CD Baby) can experience the joy of having their ears bleed to the tune of “Ruins of My Last Salvation” and “Teeth of the Serpent” with the release of the Kosher Komp: Vol. 1 download.

A full track listing will be available on September 10th, 2011. Fans will be able to download the compilation for free at KosherMetal.com. For now, get a gander at all of the bands appearing on the download and brace yourself for extreme handsomeness at 0.31 on the video below:

Meet Tommy Burke: SOE’s New Drummer!

It’s official: Swarm of Eyes has a new drummer.  (Actually, they now have “a” drummer, but let’s not split hairs here.)

Tommy Burke; a veteran of the New England metal scene who has played with such bands as Vertical Smile, Ratchaburi, Trench and Exceed; has been announced as Swarm of Eyes’ drummer.  Known for his hard-hitting style and use of a double-bass drum, Tommy will be joining Swarm of Eyes on their upcoming live club dates and promises to bring an exciting new dimension to the band’s sound… OR ELSE!

To learn more about SOE’s newest member and the man sometimes known as “Boo Boo Blackstone,” please check out Tommy Burke’s bio.

Welcome aboard, Tommy!

Swarm of Eyes Vocalist Growls, Screams, and Now Sings

Sven Lindstsrom, power metal yodeling icon and SOE vocalist Randy Carter's esteemed mentor

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Swarm of Eyes lead singer Randy Carter has added “singing” and “yodeling” to his ever-expanding vocal repertoire.

“I figured, George and Deej can play more than three chords… EACH! And Jeff plays bass using more than one string. It was time for me to step up my game,” said Carter. “I want to be known as more than just a megalomaniac with a wicked-awesome jheri curl and impeccably groomed sideburns. I want to be known as an artist who takes his craft seriously, too.”

In an effort to hone his vocal chops, Carter enlisted the aid of iconic metal yodeler Sven Lindstrom. Lindstrom is recognized for his innovative “power yodeling” techniques, best exemplified on his landmark albums, Metal Up Your Alps and Run to the Hills in Lederhosen.

As a result of Lindstrom’s tutelage, fans can expect an even greater range of diversity in Randy Carter’s vocals when Swarm of Eyes actually gets off their collective asses to play a string of live shows this summer.
