In keeping with the month-long online celebration running alongside our Kickstarter campaign for the impending release of our new EP, Once More Unto the Breach, your pals here at Swarm of Eyes are releasing snippets of some of the new songs you’ll get to pipe directly into your ear canals very soon. This first 30-second clip is what we’d like to think of as our “lead single”: a heartwarming ditty called “Dead Eyes.”
True to Swarm of Eyes’ penchant for brutally emotional storytelling through song, “Dead Eyes” weaves together unlikely themes of pain, friendship, necromancy, and difficult decisions.
“The track digs into grief, survivor’s guilt, denial, and the terrifying reality that sometimes love alone isn’t enough to save someone,” explains Randy Carter, lead singer for Swarm of Eyes.
